Tough Love: The Meaning of Saturn Transits

Picture
With Saturn about to enter its home sign of Capricorn, we bring you an evening engaging with this down-to-earth planet as it transits through our charts.

Every person defines who he is by separating himself out from others and "the world" about him - a process astrologically shown by transiting Saturn. Taken to an extreme Saturn brings isolation and loneliness; without enough Saturn we become prey to co-dependency, self doubt and intimidation.  If we accept him, then Saturn teaches us self-sufficiency and personal autonomy; if we deny him  we are destined to live in fear. Tough love may well be emotionally uncomfortable but to come to terms with incarnate reality such love is always a necessity.

Richard SwattonRichard Swatton
Richard's astrological education began in 1976, learning traditional, horary, and occult-theosophical approaches within the context of the Western Mystery Tradition.  After an extended exploration of the work of Noel Tyl, 1980-84, Richard then began studying at The Centre for Psychological Astrology (CPA) gaining their Diploma in 1994. After teaching astrology independently for 20 years, Richard was invited to join the staff  of the London School of Astrology teaching both horary and psychological astrology  As a psychotherapist since 1994, Richard has worked for MIND, St. Thomas's Hospital and privately. Now located in Bristol he sees clients online and in person for both psychotherapy and astrological consultation. His personal development work has involved over 20 years of psycho-therapeutic work,  intensive and prolonged periods of study and self-analysis, mindfulness-meditation and retreats, lucid dreaming and body-energy work.  His main teaching in astrology stresses the importance of training the intuition.

The Brontë Sisters

The Bronte sisters hold a unique place in literary history. Not only was it unusual for three sisters from the same family to have successful novels published but this was a time when women were regarded as second-class citizens in a male-dominated society. Their books are regarded as classics today. Several have been turned into films (google lists twelve versions of Jane Eyre) and Kate Bush’s debut single Wuthering Heights remains her biggest selling song.
Picture
Essentially self contained in their home in Haworth, Yorkshire they sometimes struggled to come to terms with the real world. Their attitude to love and romance was both passionate and idealistic. At the same time they were the forerunners of the suffragists and believed women should be the equal of men when it came to the intellect.

Chris Burgoyne will look at the lives of the Bronte family as reflected in their astrological charts and the astrology of the times, to see if we can understand more about Charlotte, Emily and Anne.

Their story cannot be told without mention of their troubled artist brother Branwell. The family had high hopes of him as the only male child, but he failed to achieve anything near the success of his sisters. What went wrong?

Thursday 5th. October 7.30pm
Element balances

Picture
A facilitated discussion on the element balance as expressed in the astrological chart. Most of us will have some elements more prominent and some less so. Sometimes one may dominate, another be unrepresented at all. Modern astrology would be reluctant to say this represents an 'unbalanced' person, but assessing a chart's element distribution can be an immediate way of getting a grasp of a chart. But does an excess of fire make someone 'fiery' or is it more subtle than that ?

Join us for some charts of some well-known folk with an imbalance of elements and then to explore how our own charts can be understood from a consideration of their element distribution - and how we can use an element imbalance to our advantage.

Not Just Luck - Jupiter in Your Chart

Picture
A welcome return for Andrea Soole, who will be sharing her knowledge about Jupiter.

Often referred to as our 'Guardian Angel', the 'Father of the Heavens' is associated with good fortune, plenty and spirit of hope. Where Jupiter falls in our chart we can often find a need for expansion and sense of faith. During the evening we will look at examples, the keywords and rulerships of Jupiter as well as looking beyond the cliché of the 'lucky planet' and explore new ways to interpret it your natal chart.

We'll also be checking in with Jupiter's opposition with Uranus at the end of the month and its imminent sign change from Libra to Scorpio. You're welcome to bring your own charts for discussion.

Tithi : The Solar-Lunar Angle in Your Chart

Picture
Sonal SachdevaSonal Sachdeva
In Jyotish (Vedic Astrology),  the Panchanga (Hindu Calendar) has at its core the relationship between the Moon and the distance it has travelled from the Sun. This Sun- Moon angle points to five key themes that will always reign in our lives.

Each of these angles have a unique flavour that colour our way of being. Enormous insights can be deciphered solely from the Solar-Lunar relationship, long before we have even delved into the Natal Chart!

Please bring your birth charts along and get in touch if your would like to know your Panchanga details prior to the talk: sonalsach108@gmail.com

Sonal Sachdeva is a film-maker, new media  enthusiast and an astrologer who studied under Liz Greene at the CPA. Basic Principles of Medieval Astrology

Picture
As modern astrologers, we're used to drawing up charts in seconds on a computer, and using numerous techniques, outer planet transits and a psychological language to work with our clients. Ours is a rich and subtle art. How, then, did medieval astrologers manage with just seven planets and five aspects? Was theirs simply a limited cut-down version of what we have available to us in modern astrology?

In this talk, Chris Mitchell will demonstrate some of the richness of medieval astrology. Despite the lack of outer planets and modern techniques, medieval astrologers had a surprisingly large toolkit of methods lost to modern astrology: dignity, almutens, Arabic Parts, lunations and profections, to name but a few. The recent resurgence of modern translations of ancient texts mean these fascinating methods have been rediscovered, so find out how you can use them today to enrich your own astrological readings.

Picture
Chris Mitchell has had a life-long interest in astrology, and is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Leicester looking at Jewish and Arabic influences in English medieval astrology. He holds the Diploma in Medieval Astrology from Astrologos and has an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from Bath Spa University College. He is a regular speaker at a number of astrology groups and conferences worldwide, and has written a number of published articles both for astrological publications and the local press.

Sunday 18th. June, 2017  11.00am on
Field trip to Quenington

Picture
Tune into Venus in Taurus with a walk, a picnic, a sculpture show and astrological conversation.

Our Midsummer outing takes us to the Cotswold village of Quenington with its ancient church and the excellent biennial Fresh Air sculpture exhibition in the grounds of Quenington Rectory.

It's a lovely spot, with extensive grounds on the banks of the Coln, and amazing creations from top sculptors. We will have the charts of some sculptors to look at and also consider own own responses to the artwork. Does the position of Venus in our own charts tell us about this ?

Quenington is about 45mins drive from Cheltenham. Parking is on the village green and is clearly signposted. Click here for map and location of parking.

Please arrive by 11.00 to start with a walk taking in some field paths and side roads around the village. About mid-day we will visit the church (internationally famous for having surviving 900yr old carvings on both north and south doorways) - also the opportunity to do some dowsing here. Please bring a picnic lunch, after which we will visit the exhibition.

Picture
Picture

If you don't wish to bring lunch, there is a
pub in the village and at the exhibition a café providing light lunches (to where we may quite likely repair for afternoon tea and cake).

Entry to the exhibition is £5, payable at the entrance.

If the weather outlook is very poor, we may postpone - so please check here before setting out

Small and big pictures - The 3rd & 9th houses

Picture
The houses represent a layer of chart interpretation additional to the planets and zodiac signs. In this continuation of our series of facilitated discussions about the houses, we will explore the polarity between the third and ninth houses, which represent educational, philosophical and physical travels. The third is said to relate to factual learning, communication and short journeys and the ninth house opposite to philosophy, faith and travel.

After introducing the concept of houses in general we will explore how planets in the third and ninth houses operate, as well as what the zodiac sign on the cusp or within the houses (and their 'ruling' planets) tells us about that area of our lives.

Come and share your insights and experiences of these two houses in this free-ranging discussion. Suitable for beginners.

The Astrology of Now

Picture
You don’t need to be an astrologer to understand that we are living through a pivotal historical moment. But astrology does help us to see the big picture — the weft and weave of history, the patterns that repeat.

This month, Christina Rodenbeck will look at the astrology of now and unpick the current astrological tapestry, thread by planetary thread. Christina is a welcome regular speaker at Aquarius Severn.

Join the discussion and share your insights into how current events in the world around us are being shaped by the astrology of the times.

Christina Rodenbeck was brought up in Cairo and now lives in Oxford, having spent most of the intervening years in London. She writes The Oxford Astrologer blog and has authored many books including Meditation: Simple Routines for Home, Work and Travel, and Buddha In My Pocket.

The Writer's Mercury

Picture
"We are lonesome animals. We spend our life trying to be less lonesome. One of our ancient methods is to tell a story begging the listener to say – and to feel – 'Yes, that is the way it is, or at least that is the way I feel it.' You are not as alone as you thought."  John Steinbeck (Piscean - but what is his Mercury sign ?)

Mercury is the planet of writing and communication. The sign – and to some extent, the house – in which this planet is placed dictates the manner in which our thoughts are synthesised and how we relate to the world. In this evening's forum, Jill Shearer looks at the charts of a number of different types of writer, and reflect on how Mercury functions through different signs. Does your own Mercury sign resonate with one of them ?

Picture
Jill originally learnt astrology with Company of Astrologers in London. She has long experience of writing, editing and publishing in a wide variety of subjects in national newspapers, magazines and books – from ethical and green issues to food, personal finance, interior design and astrology

Joining up the dots !

Picture
The Tetractys - a number system based on mathematics and geometry - had a huge influence on the mystery teachings of Pythagoras, Plato and beyond. This talk by Jodey Collorick explores the fascinating history of this ancient symbol that has fed into kaballah, tarot, numerology … and astrology. It can inform our modern interpretation of the way planets interact.
Picture
Jodey Collorick, who has spoken at Aquarius Severn several times, is a founding member of the Bath Astrologers' Forum and studied horary and the philosophy of astrology with the Company of Astrologers. He juggles a busy family life with leading a Bath astrology group and a client practice in the Cotswold Hills

How to Interpret Your T-Square

Picture
A recorded webinar given by Frank Clifford for The Astrology University, which explains this challenging planetary alignment which many of us will have in our birth charts. Frank looks at how it may express itself in celebrity and audience examples.

After the break there will be a discussion facilitated by the committee on how we can best handle our own T-squares, formed when a planet, angle or other body is at the midpoint of an opposition in a birthchart.

Frank Clifford is author of over a dozen books on astrology and palmistry, and runs The London School of Astrology. He is also the 2012 winner of The Charles Harvey Award for Exceptional Service to Astrology.

Attendees will be given a code for a 10% discount on the purchase of an astrology university lecture.

On the evening, the current Jupiter-Uranus opposition at 22-23° Libra-Aries will be in a T-square with Mercury at 23° Capricorn, so it should be a stimulating evening !

The 2nd and 8th Houses Discussion

Picture
Picture
In a change to our programme (due to our speaker on Nine Star Ki, Gabriella Burgess, being taken ill - and we wish her a speedy recovery), we are going to continue our series of discussions on the houses, after covering the 1st/7th house polarity back in September.

The houses represent a layer of chart interpretation additional to the planets and zodiac signs. In this facilitated discussion we will examine this important astrological building block by considering the polarity between the second house - said to be where our material resources and values are to be found - and the eighth house opposite.

After introducing the concept of houses in general we will explore how planets in the second and eighth houses operate, as well as what the zodiac sign on the cusp or within the houses (and their ruling planets) tells us about that area of our lives.

Please be prepared to ask questions and share your insights as this is a facilitated discussion evening!

If you wish, please bring a print-out of your birth chart to refer to - if you don't have a copy, please see the bottom of this page or visit www.astro.com to cast and print up to 10 birthcharts free of charge.

The Astrology of Seminal Moments in Music

Picture
Tonight we look at music and the heavens.

In this wide ranging exploration of music through the centuries Pamela Armstrong identifies those seminal moments when new traditions in musical style have emerged. Woven within the fabric of our musical history are periods of radical creativity which have lead to entirely new ways of composing and playing.

By identifying these pivotal points in time Pamela is able to explore the dominant planetary configurations which underpin seismic shifts in musical form.

Bring along your chart and find out why your spirit soars to one type of music, yet not another.
Picture
This talk is well illustrated with musical examples and is designed for both beginner and experienced astrologers alike.

Pamela recently completed her M.A. at the Sophia Centre for the Study of Cosmology in Culture at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. This included research into subjects ranging from Stellar Religions to Sacred Geography, Cosmology, Magic and Divination. Pamela’s MA thesis explored the celestial properties of ancient monuments and she is currently embarking on a PhD, which will continue her investigation into the skywatchers of prehistory.

What Makes You 'You'?

Picture
In these times it is clear we need to find new maps to navigate our rapidly changing world. Making some sense of chaos would seem to be the new requirement. Astrology is a powerful tool for precisely this purpose.

Yet the art and science of chart interpretation occurs both within and outside the framework of current personal, collective and cultural understanding of what a human being is. Astrology is an effective tool for understanding patterns of character, behaviour and growth. Yet it also shows us that life, and potentially we as astrologers, are ever changing.

How may we arrive at deeply supportive astrological interpretations for clients within that ever-changing framework, that include our current understandings and yet reach beyond them?

Cassandra opens up a broad exploration of the astrologer-client relationship and chart interpretation.

Cassandra Eve has been a practicising astrologer since the mid 1990's. Her work with astrology, holistic therapies and teaching meditation has taken her to live in New Zealand, India and Australia. Now she lives and has her practice 'Whole Woman' in beautiful Cornwall, travelling throughout the UK to facilitate client consultations and workshops.

Selves & Others - the 1st and 7th Houses

Picture
The houses represent a layer of chart interpretation additional to the planets and zodiac signs. In this facilitated discussion we will examine this important astrological building block by considering the polarity between the first house - the most self-willed part of a horoscope - and the seventh house opposite, where contact with others is represented.

After introducing the concept of houses in general we will focus on how planets in the first and seventh houses affect our lives - Mars in the first house will be very different from Mars in the seventh, for example, and if there are planets in both, the polarity between them may be emphasised. The chart for the beginning of the talk has five planets in the seventh house and two in the first.

If you wish, please bring a print-out of your birth chart to refer to - if you don't have a copy, please get in touch so we can inform you how to do this.

Sex and the Birthchart

Picture
Teresa Moorey explores signatures of sexuality in the birth charts of celebrities, relating this also to the lives of all of us. How important is the sign Scorpio, Pluto and Mars in the sex life? Or could Mercury and Gemini prove surprisingly significant?

There will be plenty of charts to look at and discuss, and you are free to share your own experiences if you wish, or to remain discreetly silent!

Choosing Your Moment - The Art of Electional Astrology

Picture
Picture
Electional Astrology is the forgotten branch of the art, yet also the one which gained the approval of the authorities in the Renaissance. It has been used to choose times for the foundations of cities and cathedrals, to start businesses, to get married, and more. It has its own set of rules, which are simple to apply once learned. This talk gives examples from both past and present, and encourages the audience to have a go themselves, with some practical exercises!

Bernard Eccles is a long-serving member of the astrological community, having joined the Astrological Lodge of London in the late 1970s. Since then he has been President of the Lodge, lectured for the Faculty of Astrological studies, written books and sunsign columns, and won the Charles Harvey Award.

Field Trip to Wayland's Smithy and The Uffington White Horse

Picture
Wayland's Smithy
PictureThe Uffington White Horse at Uffington Castle
Our annual summer field trip is an opportunity to visit one of the many ancient or cultural sites that we are blessed with here in the south west of England, in the company of astrologers and friendly people with an interest in the subject.

All are welcome to join us, and you do not have to be a member or have attended any of our evening talks (or have an interest in astrology). This summer we will be visiting Wayland's Smithy and the Uffington White Horse in the Vale of the White Horse, south Oxfordshire, both within a couple of miles of each other and situated a few miles west of Swindon, about 50 minutes' drive from Cheltenham.

This is a free event, though you will need cash for parking and afternoon tea.

Wayland's Smithy is a long barrow and chambered tomb dating from around 3500 BCE located on the Ridgeway, a neolithic track linking Avebury to the river Thames. The White Horse is an animal figure carved into the chalk hillside, possibly first cut 3000 years ago. It is part of a complex including iron age earthworks, the artificially-flattened Dragon Hill and The Manger combe - this may have been a ritual site for which Dragon Hill was a viewing platform, but probably not as legend has it where the horse goes to graze when no-one is looking !

Please meet at 11.30am at the nearest parking area to Wayland's Smithy (see map and Google Street View), from where it is a about a 20 minute largely flat walk to our destination. It can be muddy and rutted though so wear suitable footwear. Please also bring a picnic lunch.

Please note there are no loos on either site during the day but the Teapot Tearoom (see below) have kindly agreed to allow us to use their facilities at any time of the day. There are also loos in Highworth and Farringdon which you may pass through on your journey.

After our picnic lunch at Wayland's Smithy we will drive to the car park for White Horse Hill, where we will take in the views and explore Uffington Castle, and ancient hill fort, and the Uffington White Horse.

Late afternoon we can adjourn for tea and cake at the nearby Teapot Tearoom at the foot of Uffington Hill. Please bring cash as they do not have a card facility.

Entry to the sites is free, but there are car parking charges.

Picture
If the weather is poor we may alter our schedule to lunch at a local pub and include one of the interesting old churches in the White Horse Vale.

If the weather is very poor, we may postpone - so please check here before setting out.

Big Decisions ?

Picture
It’s supposedly easy to make a decision - just draw up the chart for the time of your question and interpret ! But usually important events are not chosen by a astrologers, as far as we know. Of course if different people asked the question "Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?" each question would have it’s own chart, with presumably a different answer !

So this discussion evening will use other astrological approaches, drawing on the charts of the EU and UK, other referenda and some of the key figures in the EU debate, to see what light astrology sheds on this possibly big decision.

Thursday 31st March 2016, 8pm
Transits discussion

Picture
In a change to our usual format the evening will start at 8pm with 15 minutes for refreshments (so that those who have attended the AGM may have a break), followed by an informal circle discussion on the subject of transits. The evening will conclude at an earlier time than usual, 9.30pm.

Please bring your chart and be willing to share your own recent, current, or upcoming transits, so that we can all gain insight into how these are playing out 'in the real world' of our own lives.

To reflect the fact that the evening will end earlier than usual, the entrance fee will be halved (so £2 for members, £3 for non-members).

Thursday 31st March 2016, 6.30pm
Aquarius Severn AGM

The officers of the society will give their annual report on its activities and finances, subscriptions and entry charges will be set and officers for the forthcoming year will be elected, through an online members-only vote.

Kris Lee and Graham Boston have indicated their willingness to stand for election again, though Chris Burgoyne has decided to step down. The committee would like to thank Chris for his input and hard work over the last two years.

All are welcome to attend the AGM, which is followed by a break then...

Heavenly Stratagems -
Astrological Fate in The Plays of William Shakespeare

Picture
The notion of Fate, as well as the symbols and concepts of Renaissance Astrology, were embedded in the culture of Shakespeare's time. His plays give voice to many popular idioms that reveal an understanding of astrology quite different to that of the 20th and 21st Century astrologer.

Kris Lee will look at a possible birthchart for the playwright and discuss some well-known and often misrepresented astrological references in the canon. He will focus on the likely inaugural play at The Globe Theatre - Julius Caesar, where there is evidence that astrology was used to elect the date of its first performance - and on Romeo and Juliet, whose 'star-crossed lovers' epitomise an unavoidable astrological fate. This play may reflect a particularly unusual conjunction of planets that occurred in July 1594 : Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Saturn in Leo, opposite Jupiter in Aquarius, a factor that may cast light on the uncertain date of the play's writing and early performances.

'Alack, alack that heaven should practise stratagems | Upon so soft a subject as myself.'  Juliet (Romeo & Juliet 3.5.210-11)

Kris Lee has been a committee member of Aquarius Severn since 2001. Tonight's talk is based on his dissertation that received a distinction as part of an MA in Shakespeare & Theatre he recently completed at the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-on-Avon. He is also a published astrological cartoonist and lectures on early-modern England.

Uranus and Pluto have now finished their exact series of square aspects, but before this finally leaves us are still close enough to be in orb for January and February. What have we learnt from this period that began in early 2012 - and will things seem different once they are past ?

The great chronocrators Jupiter and Saturn will be in square aspect in the Spring and later in the year Saturn will be squaring Neptune. The end of the year sees a Jupiter-Uranus opposition, nicely mediated by a trine/sextile with Saturn.

Join us as we look back at the astrology of 2015 and look forward to how astrological events might play out globally and on an individual level in 2016.

Capturing the imagination : the astrology of cultural icons

Picture
How do some people become ‘iconic’, inspiring devotion or embodying archetypal principles? They may be instantly recognisable (at least in Western culture), known by their surnames - or occasionally first names - alone and often seem to embody a particular principle or cause.

Elvis Presley still inspires millions of fans, decades after his death. Mother Teresa became revered for her selfless charitable work. Mohandas Gandhi is synonymous with non-violent protest.

We will look at the astrology of these individuals and more who seem to resonate with something beyond themselves. Often their darker side is ignored as we elevate them to something akin to mythical status.

The archetypal principles inherent in astrology can help us to understand the essential nature of these individuals and why so many respond to them.

The Future of Astrology,
with Courtney Roberts

In the first of a series of evenings by top international astrologers, we will show a video presentation especially made for us by US astrologer and author Courtney Roberts, who will present the latest ground-breaking findings in astrological research.

After the break Courtney, who is a long-time friend of Aquarius Severn, will join us from her home in Cape Canaveral, Florida to answer your questions.
PictureDo we want to predict the future of astrology, or build it?

There is a growing body of evidence for planetary influence, but are we as astrologers keeping up with it? What does the future hold for astrological research? Where is astrology going, and what, if anything, will change about the way it is practised and used? Can we stay relevant, or even ahead of the game? Will there ever be an astrologer in space?!

Bring your imagination, and your wildest hopes and dreams, as we explore the possibilities, some of which are becoming more and more probable with each passing day.

Shamanism and Astrology

Picture
Martin Van Zyl will explain what shamanism is, and how this particular 'way' includes our place in the Universe. The ability to 'see' has been cultivated amongst shamanic peoples for centuries and these teachings are becoming available to what are termed 'Metis' people' (folk from different cultures who are keen to learn the ways of the 5 Haquas of health, happiness, humour, hope and harmony.

The evening will be experiential and you will be invited to use your intuitive powers as well as your 'seeing' abilities to determine how they can best function from a place of inner harmony.

Martin vanZyl is a registered osteopath and an apprentice to Laughing Willow, a shaman living in Arizona, and travels world-wide teaching the ways of the Twisted Hairs of Turtle Island.

The Unfolding of Time: Secondary, Solar Arc and Logarithmic Time Progressions

Picture
Astrologers commonly use transits to understand the past, present and future. However, progressions can give a different - and perhaps deeper - take on the nature of time as it unfolds throughout our lives.

Tonight, Aquarius Severn committee members Graham Boston and Chris Burgoyne present an overview of three techniques: secondary progressions, solar arc directions and A.T. Mann's Logarithmic Age Progressions.

Please bring your birthchart. If you would like your progressions analysed during the talk, please email chris@aquariussevern.com asap with your name and birth details.

Planets in Dialogue

John Wadsworth and Andreea BraduJohn Wadsworth and Andreea Bradu
In this lively presentation, John & Andreea will perform a series of planetary dialogues from their repertoire of astrological theatre pieces, currently featured each month in the Glastonbury Oracle magazine.  Each short performance carries an evocative power to awaken the planetary archetypes and can open up a deep enquiry into how the planets operate in our lives.  After each dialogue there will be a space for chart exploration and discussion.  So please bring your charts along.

John is a professional astrologer, teacher and pioneer of astrological theatre.  Andreea holds an empathic space for healing, working with music, dance and drama to foster connection, dialogue and understanding.  Together, they hold twice monthly meditations on the new and full moons, create archetypal planetary theatre together, and are running a series of workshops called “Planets in Love”, working experientially with the masculine and feminine polarities.

Field Trip to Woodchester Mansion

Picture
This year for our Midsummer outing we will be visiting Nympsfield Long Barrow and then the atmospheric and curious Woodchester Mansion.

Woodchester Mansion is a 19th. Century Victorian Gothic Masterpiece mysteriously abandoned mid-construction in 1873. Hidden in a secluded valley south-west of Stroud, it is untouched by the modern world. This Grade 1 Listed Building has been saved from dereliction, but will never be completed.

We will walk through this extraordinary architectural exhibit in which the secrets of the medieval Gothic builders and masons are laid bare. The carvings in Woodchester Mansion are among the finest of their kind in the world. The Mansion has also been a persistent source of ghostly tales, including a floating head and an Irish woman who can be heard singing.

Meet at 12:30 at Coaley Peak viewpoint on the B4066 - bring a picnic. We will also view the the remains of the long barrow which has been here for 5000+ years.

Alternatively, be at the nearby Woodchester Park carpark by 1:45 in time to get the minibus to the house at 2 o'clock. You can also walk from the car park - it's about a 20 minute walk.

NB The entrance to Woodchester Mansion is off B4066 near Nympsfield - not at Woodchester Village.

The afternoon will finish at about 4:30, but there is the option to do a walk around the tranquil woodland of the park and/or walk back to the carpark.

Booking is now closed : we didn't get enough advance bookings for our own group tour, so we will be taking the public tour at 2:30. You can turn up on the day, but we can't guarantee a place on the guided tour. The entrance price is £7.50 (including free tea and cake for members !)

Goodies and Baddies

Picture
In the past century we have seen an unrivalled move towards an astrology focussed on personality; a consequence of this has been a shifting in astrological symbolism to fit the humanistic view that every experience in life is in some way good for us.  Concepts like 'Malefic' and 'Benefic' are often accused by modern practitioners as being outdated and overly simplistic but when we shift our attention away from personality and onto actual things and people in the world we find this categorising as serving its true purpose - showing us things that are good for the soul and things that are bad.

Returning to ancient concepts of beneficial and malign planets can bring a welcome simplicity and clarity to astrological interpretation. Horoscope examples showing key moves towards things good and away from things bad will be shown.

A founder member of Bristol & Bath Astrologers' Forum, Jodey Collorick has been practising astrology since the early 1990s. He studied with The Company of Astrologers and has a particular interest in horary astrology, his secret ulterior motive is to promote and re-frame astrology as a practice of deep magic and divination. He teaches astrology from Bath and maintains a part time practice in the Gloucestershire hills.

Jyotish for Westerners :

Picture
For those with a background in Western Astrology, learning Vedic/Hindu Astrological approach is easier than might first seem. The word Jyotish comes from Sanskrit Jyotisha, meaning ‘Light, heavenly body’, and has its roots dating more than 2000 years ago.

With a special emphasis on North Node-South Node (Rahu-Ketu) in Jyotish, the nodal axis is fundamental reason for the cycle of birth and death. We will also touch upon the Nakshatras, the Lunar Constellations, which underpins the entire Vedic Astrology and is as old as man’s obsession with studying the night sky!

Sonal Sachdeva is a film-maker, new media  enthusiast and an astrologer who studied under Liz Greene at the CPA. Her films deal with social issues, the environment, and the ways people from different cultures live, think and feel. In 2010 she founded a group Circle of Divine Astrology, which holds events, discussions, talks and multimedia projects in London. The Circle of Divine Video project online has been first of its kind to document interviews with astrologers and practitioners of alternative healing arts from all around the world. A couple of years ago, Circle of Divine Astro Essences were launched. They are 100 percent pure oil blends for nourishing the skin and promoting emotional well-being. Each of the 12 oil blends are hand-made according to the placement of Sun, Moon or Ascendant.

Growing Pains

Picture
Drawing on her extensive experience as a secondary school teacher, internationally-respected astrologer Alex Trenoweth demonstrates the pattern of growth and development through the Jupiter and Saturn cycles during all life stages. Most importantly, she provides valuable insight and advice for anyone who wants to help the adolescents close to them navigate the treacherous waters of growing up into adulthood. Astrologically-primed older folk can get a better understanding of what going on with adolescents and maybe help us recognise our own inner teenager!

Alex Trenoweth is a London-based astrologer and History teacher of 11-16 year olds. Passionate about astrology and teaching adolescents, she wrote "Growing Pains" as both a means of combining two very different careers. In addition to her busy life as an astrologer and teacher, she is also a jazz trumpeter and writer of fiction. Alex is preparing a tour of India, the US and Australia to promote her work in astrology and education

Get your (astrological) vote out !

Picture
In what the opinion polls say looks like being one of the most unpredictable general elections in decades, we see how astrology offers pointers to the main themes of the campaign.

We will look what we can draw from the astrology of some landmark elections of previous years and then go on to this year's election chart. In traditional astrology, the fate of a country was linked to those of its ruler, so we will look at the trajectory of the party leaders as expressed in their astrology, What advice can we give them ?! And can we predict the result ?

Inside the Cosmic Mind - Archetypal Astrology and the New Cosmology

Picture
We are delighted to welcome back Hove astrologer Phoebe Wyss, author of Hercules' Labours: The Evolutionary Path around the Zodiac and her latest book Inside The Cosmic Mind: Archetypal Astrology and the New Cosmology.

The archetypal approach to astrology, as pioneered by Richard Tarnas and aligned with 21st century cosmology, is both the newest and the oldest form of astrology.

Deriving from a lost pre-historic civilization, its astral mathematics inspired the sacred geometry of the Neolithic monuments, while its wisdom was preserved for millennia in Egyptian temple libraries. A new, alternative paradigm is now gaining ground, supported by post-modern scientific thinking, in which astrology could have pride of place again. It can even explain how astrology works!

The Age of Aquarius - Astrology vs Numerology

Richard AbbotRichard Abbot
When did – or does - the Age of Aquarius really begin? 1781? 1904? 1987? 2012? 2200?

Perhaps the more important question is on what basis can we assert that any such thing as the Age of Aquarius exist at all?

Numerology has a great deal to say about this, some of which challenges - and augments - orthodox astrological thinking.

Richard will present a rundown of some lesser known views on this topic, and will present his own original take before opening it out to Q&A. It promises to be a interesting evening!

Richard Abbot learned about the unseen dimensions of life, over a 20 year study period with renowned psychic and healer Arthur Norris. He practises Tarot, Numerology and Palmistry as tools for self-discovery, empowerment and transformation, as well as providing Healing for those in pain. He has written numerous books and courses and has appeared at events in both the UK and USA, including organising the annual UK Mind Body & Soul Weekends.

The Hermitage Development Centre, originally established in 1983 by Arthur Norris & Pat Warrington, now continues under Richard’s guidance.

A year to look forward to ?

Picture
… but we will start by looking back at the astrology of 2014, which was still dominated by the ongoing Uranus-Pluto square. 2015 will see the final exact alignment of this aspect, the only one with both planets direct and with Mars also involved. We will also have a fortunate Jupiter-Uranus trine, with Jupiter then moving from Leo to Virgo and responsible Saturn moving from Scorpio into fun-loving Sagittarius.

There is also the first total lunar eclipse for a number of years that will be visible in the UK,  on 28 Sep at 4° Aries. We will look at the implications of the year’s astrology for our own birth charts and the wider world, with a peek at the astrological background to the UK General Election.

Astrology and Feminism
(originally billed for 16th. Oct.)

Feminist poster
Aquarius Severn member Pamela Armstrong looks at Feminism, past, present and future.

She will be using the astrological chart to see if it is possible to identify this politically and culturally challenging social movement in the horoscopes of individuals or events. As always, Pamela will bring many example charts, but will also leave time for people to talk about their own charts and their own experience. All persuasions welcome.

Out of hiding? Discovering big cats in the British countryside

Picture
PictureRick Minter
On the night of a full moon at this Scorpionic time of year - and with Mars conjunct Pluto - we look at the mystery of the Big Cats that may be prowling our countryside.

People continue to report big cats in and around Gloucestershire and elsewhere in the UK. This talk from researcher Rick Minter will explore the evidence for wild-living big cats, explain how the subject is being studied, and discuss the implications of big cats such as black leopards, pumas and lynx, possibly naturalising in the British countryside. Is the truth - and are big cats - out there ? Rick will also welcome your own experiences and responses to this challenging subject.

Rick Minter is author of Big Cats, Facing Britain's Wild Predators, which has received many positive reviews for its balanced and well-researched approach. He will be including some recent photos he has collected since the book's publication.

The Magic of The Moon

Teresa Moorey
Teresa Moorey will be looking at how the Moon affects us day by day and also in our birthcharts.

How can you attune to the Moon? What positive effect might this have? Is there evidence of a lunar effect on crime, mental illness and also on daily life?

There are many theories and concepts that ‘explain’ astrology, but might there be several ‘astrologies’ and is the Moon strong evidence for one kind of astrology? And how do you use the Moon in your chart? We shall be looking at this and other questions. Discussion will be encouraged and evidence of lunar effect especially welcome.

Teresa is a Stroud-based astrologer, counsellor and author of over 50 books on astrology and other mind-body-spirit subjects including Secrets of Moon Astrology, Silver Moon, The Little Book of Moon Magic, The Moon & You - A Beginner's Guide,  and Witchcraft - A Beginner's Guide. The Moment of Life near Death

Picture
Mandy Morrell will share a near death experience of her own but will also compare notes with that of Anita Moorjani whose wonderful book “Dying to be me” so well describes some common features of such phenomena. Relevant charts, for the Moments in question, will show the aspects of Life that are so clearly felt near Death.

This talk was first given for the Company of Astrologers, with additional material from Maggie Hyde, in November 2013 in London.

Mandy was first introduced to Astrology by the works of C. G. Jung, discovered while reading Classics at Oxford. Twenty years later, after raising a family and teaching the Violin and Ancient Greek, she obtained a Diploma from the Mayo School of Astrology and the Certificate in Horary Astrology awarded by the Company of Astrologers. From 2005-2010 Mandy worked as a Registrar of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Civil Partnerships, and in January 2011 she became an independent Civil Funeral Celebrant following training with the Institute of Civil Funerals.

Lessons from Nature

Kelda WhiteHomeopath Kelda White
Kelda White, who gave us  a talk last year on the Celtic Calendar, will explore the fascinating world of 'plant signatures' - how the habits of plants teach us about our own characteristics and their potential to heal.
The idea that the characteristics of plants are tied to their medicinal uses goes back a long way, with Paracelsus recording 'Nature marks each growth according to its curative benefit'.  But this approach has resisted scientific scepticism and is still one of the principles underlying herbalism and homeopathy. Many plants are also said to be associated with particular planets in astrology.

Kelda is a Malvern homeopath who journeys with clients to reconnect to their inner truth and the cycles of the Earth. This talk will get you looking at the plants in your garden in a new light !

"Que Sera, Sera, Mate !"
the New Astrology of the Masses

PictureBernard Eccles
The trouble with 19th and 20th century astrology textbooks is that they assume a certain set of social and spiritual values, and the 21st century just isn’t like that. Is there a textbook for a multicultural, largely secular, materialistic society with very little spiritual awareness and even less chance of social advance?

Yes, there is, for it turns out that Ptolemy has all the answers ! Written from a distinctly pre-Christian viewpoint, with clear views on the mechanisms of Fate, his Tetrabiblos seems very much in tune with today. Find out with regular visitor Bernard Eccles how this ancient approach retains its astrological relevance after nearly 2000 years.

Bernard Eccles Hon DFAstrolS has been writing, researching and teaching astrology for over thirty years.  He is a Faculty Honorary Diploma holder and has an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology. Twice President of the Astrological Lodge of London, and winner of the Charles Harvey Award in 2011, his enthusiasm for the circles and cycles of the heavens is still as bright as ever.

SATURDAY 14th. June 11am on
Field trip to Tewkesbury Abbey

PictureTewkesbury Abbey
This year our mid-Summer outing combines history, earth mysteries and dowsing.

In the morning, historian Tim Porter, who has talked to us a number of times, will give us a historical tour of Tewkesbury Abbey, which was started in 1102 and was saved from the dissolution of its monastery by being bought by the townspeople for £453.

Bring your own picnic - or visit one of the nearby cafés and pubs, which include the tea room at the Abbey which serves cakes and light lunches for charity.

In the afternoon, our own Kris Lee and Liz O’Sullivan, who has been dowsing since a child and has lived in Tewkesbury for nearly thirty years, will introduce to us the earth energies of the Abbey site. After a general introduction to earth energies, including looking at the differences between ley lines, alignments, landscape geometries and earth currents, they will share their research into how the Abbey fits into the wider sacred landscape. There will be an opportunity to observe or try out dowsing for some of the earth currents around Tewkesbury - or try your hand at dowsing for the site of some of the monastic buildings that Tim will have mentioned.

Weather permitting we may finish with an optional walk to the river.

Meet at the Abbey Porch for 11am. The Abbey is the big ecclesiastical building in Church Street.

Public transport : there are buses every quarter of an hour from Cheltenham and hourly from Gloucester.

Parking : Parking in Tewkesbury can be expensive. For Map and prices click here. The cheapest is £1 all day at the end of Station Road but this is 3/4 mile walk from the Abbey. There is free on-street parking in streets in this area and in Oldfield and Priors Park. There is an additional car park (not shown on the map) at the end of Quay Street which charges £2.50 per day.

In the event of wet weather, most of this event can take place indoors. However please check here if the weather is bad. If the event is postponed we will post information here by 3pm on Friday 13th.

It's OK to turn up on the day, but if you know you are coming please let us know. You can book at a meeting or use the payment facility below. Please note this does not include any donation you may wish to make to the Abbey.

Two steps forward, one step back : retrograde planets

Picture
There is comparatively little written about the astrological phenomenon of retrograde motion – periods when certain planets appear to move backwards in the sky. Many astrologers appear to ignore the subject altogether, and yet before our modern understanding of the heliocentric nature of the universe, this apparent departure from the normal scheme of things must have struck observers as extraordinary. Generally assumed by those astrologers who address the subject at all as a ‘weakening,’ negative or introspective influence, the phenomenon of retrograde motion has enjoyed a less-than-positive reputation over the years, but is such a reputation deserved?

Ceres - return of the goddess ?

Picture
Christina Rodenback who has visited us before and writes the excellent Oxford Astrologer Blog, will talk on her research into the astrological role of Ceres, which in 2006 was promoted by astronomers to the status of "dwarf planet".

Fertility, parenthood and abundance
- these are the gifts brought by the goddess of agriculture Ceres. So how does the heavenly body named after her behave astrologically ? Does her transit bring babies or wealth? Or does this asteroid behave completely out of character? Christina explains how this asteroid works in your natal chart and how you can use her transits for timing.

Coming home to Earth

Picture
Annabel presently works as a massage therapist in Stroud, and  has made a commitment to nurture her creative spirit. In the last three years she has had two art exhibitions and written a mini book called "Coming Home to Earth - Seeing The World Anew."  She regularly practises yoga and meditation and continues to use her dreams for guidance.
www.annabelhollis.co.uk

On a previous visit to us, Annabel Hollis gave us an enlightening and perceptive talk on the wisdom and creative power of dreams. This time she will share a different aspect, her journey through the psychiatric system and out the other side into a process of reconnection, with her body, the earth, and her creativity.  She was a founding member of the Spiritual Crisis Network and her talk will include information about this organisation, which recognises that what professionals label "mental illness" can often be a result of a spiritual awakening, something that can feel unmanageable in our largely secular and scientific culture and made worse if an individual resists spiritual connection. Older cultures often recognise that what we term mental imbalance may be shamanic, kundalini awakening or signs of connection to the spiritual.

How the planets work together

Picture
Disposition and reception are techniques which use our understanding of signs and planets to gain insight into character and personality, and how any area of a chart is expressed in reality. They can seem challenging to approach at first, but are actually rather straightforward and add a layer of understanding of how planets in a chart relate to each other or not.

Astrologer Richard Garside will explain the techniques, and show some interesting and entertaining charts of people and events to illustrate. There will be time for questions, and to test the ideas on any personal charts you may wish to bring along.

Richard is a Bristol-based practitioner with a longstanding interest both in traditional and psychological astrology as well as in a broad range of holistic, esoteric and alternative disciplines. With a strong interest in symbolism and the interconnectedness of different complementary approaches, over the years he has synthesised a holistic approach to symbolic meaning and divination.

Talk preceded at 6:30 by our AGM (all welcome).

Dowsing the Inner Self

Chris FarrellChris Farrell
In this talk, Chris explores how the intuitive aspects of dowsing can help us discover more about our own personal psychological make up. He looks at questions such as… What really triggers our moods and the way we relate to people? How and why do we make certain decisions, especially the more irrational ones? Why are we drawn to different people or situations? Where do our inner fears and anxieties really come from?

Chris draws on Jungian and Transpersonal psychology and his own personal lifepath experiences to suggest practical ways of using dowsing to better understand who we are and to identify the powerful ‘hidden’ influences that reside within us, which can affect our everyday lives and choices and the way we react to certain situations.

Chris Farrell has been dowsing for about 14 years, having started out as a member of London and Thameside Dowsers. In 2009 he moved to Cheltenham and shortly after founded Cheltenham Dowsers, which is now in its fifth year with a membership of around 30.

As a past member and registered tutor of the British Society of Dowsers, Chris’s focus is on introducing people to dowsing and helping them improve their techniques across all of its applications: archaeology, earth energies, health and well-being, and water. But he also has a particular interest in how dowsing can be used to provide valuable psychological insights in our everyday lives.

In the ‘real world’ Chris is a communications consultant and copywriter and a lifepath mentor.

After our meal, there will be an opportunity to visit the new Embrace exhbition at The Wilson, which includes works by Jacob Epstein, Marc Chagall, Eileen Agar, Gilbert and George, Charlie Murphy, Kenneth Armitage, Emma Critchley, Chris Ofili, David Inshaw, Eileen Cooper and more, a prelude to the return to Cheltenham after 71 years in February of Rodin's famous sculpture The Kiss.

Kate BirdKate Bird
Please note this talk will be in the Green Room at our usual venue. Enter through the front door but turn left.

It is said that to give us a sense of belonging and make sense of our lives, the deepest need of any human heart is to feel truly heard.

There are times in everyone’s life when all you want is to talk something through, to be heard by someone who gives you their full attention until you’re done. But on the other hand, it’s not an easy task, just to listen and not interrupt, because the human desire to jump in and actively help another can be just as strong.

Tonight, Kate will introduce the universal spiritual practices and psychological knowledge that sit at the heart of Spiritual Companionship, and which teach you authentic ways of being with yourself and others. That is,  knowing how to be a grounded, centred and relaxed presence, comfortable with silence and not having the answers, and also able to facilitate the deeper heart-based soul talk conversations with individuals and in groups that so many people yearn for now.

Kate Bird is a qualified college lecturer, meditation teacher and Spiritual Companion, an associate of William Bloom. Kate lives in Evesham and teaches a range of practical spiritual education classes locally as well as offering 1 to 1 Soul Talk sessions.

Crisis/Opportunity - Uranus square Pluto

Picture
Uranus and Pluto are currently making a highly unusual series of seven square aspects (90-degree angles) during 2012-15. This pattern has its roots in the Uranus-Pluto conjunction that took place in the mid 1960s, a time of unprecedented cultural upheaval. Pluto moving into Capricorn in 2008 in itself heralds dramatic changes in the structures of society, but to this is added the additional impulse for change of Uranus in Aries.

But out of crisis comes opportunity.  At this central point of the series, Kris Lee and Graham Boston will facilitate a discussion evening, reviewing what we can draw from events so far and looking at the positive possibilities for change in the world - as well as how we as individuals may need to adapt to the demands it presents. The chart for the evening has Uranus right on the midheaven at 8pm, opposite the Moon.

Please bring your birth chart, or other charts you'd be happy to share.

Family patterns and the 12th. house

Following on from her previous thoroughly-engaging talk at Aquarius Severn, Cate Reidy will return to say more on the subject of the twelfth house from the perspective of transmission of family narratives, often hidden but accessible via the astrology.  During her talk, Cate will explore life themes inter-linked across family generations to consider their transfer and the way these life events are described within the birth-chart.

Cate will be looking particularly on how natal and transiting Mars manifests in 12th. house patterns.

Gong !

Picture
Sound Healing is the application of sound through the voice and other instruments to balance mind, body and spirit. It works by stimulating the body’s natural frequency of vibration and healing mechanisms. It goes back many centuries and both the voice and tuning forks have been used to heal. In recent years, gongs have started to be used for this purpose with surprising results.

Percussionist and experienced Sound Healer Phil McNamara will talk about the history and making of gongs, explaining how sound healing with gongs works, and after the break will provide a ‘gong bath’ where you are encouraged to close your eyes, relax and let the sound ‘wash’ over you.

The evening will feature several of the ‘Planet gongs' produced by the Paiste company with tunings based on Hans Cousto’s work The Cosmic Octave, each gong being 'tuned' to the frequencies of individual planets. You will also have the opportunity to play some of these exotic instruments.

Understanding channelling … and how it can change your life

Picture
We are very pleased to welcome back Tony & Ann Neate, who will give us the benefit of their decades of experience in this field.

Are you psychically Yin or Yang?

Tony and Ann will introduce the principle of channelling and show you how you can utilise these aspects of your being. They consider it is important to deal with life on all levels. On the way we will hear wonderful stories from their long and varied experience in this field and how connecting to higher beings changed their lives.

For many years Tony was well-known as a channel for H-A, but recently he has been channelling an Aquarian age energy called Allbeing.  After the tea break he will channel Allbeing for us.

Jupiter in Cancer: Home Sweet Home

Picture
Take time out from the ongoing clash of Pluto and Uranus, to spend an evening with Jupiter as it makes a guest appearance in the sign of its exaltation. A discussion evening led by Kris and Graham.

Starting with an exploration of Jupiter generally, we will examine whether Jupiter and Cancer really do go well together, and how we can use this position to energise the part of our own astrological charts likely to be boosted until July 2014 while Jupiter journeys through this cardinal water sign - especially as for some of the time Jupiter will be supported by a trine to Saturn.

Tonight Jupiter will be in a nice sextile to the Virgo New Moon.

Summer outing to The Purton Hulks

Picture
On 23rd. December 1909, a sudden giant landslip (Mars conjunct Saturn in Aries opposite Jupiter, square Uranus in Capricorn) demolished the land between the Severn and the Sharpness Canal. The solution was to deliberately run aground a number of old vessels to create a makeshift tidal erosion barrier. Barges, Trows and Schooners were "hulked" at high tide, and have since filled with silt. More boats have been added, including the schooner "Katherine Ellen" which was impounded in 1921 for running guns to the IRA, the Kennet Canal barge "Harriett", and Concrete Barges built in World War II. The Purton Hulks are therefore one of Gloucestershire's hidden treasures.

It's an atmospheric spot for a walk, and we are very pleased that we will be guided round the site by marine historian Paul Barnett THE expert on the Purton Hulks. At about 7:45pm we will adjourn to the Lammastide Inn for food and drink.

If you can, please book for this event at a meeting, via email or phone, or using the payment facility below, so we can let the pub know numbers for food. Normal talk charges apply (£4 members, £6 non-members).

This watery graveyard is appropriate for acknowledging the trine between Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces. We should also be able to see a very bright Venus appearing from about 8:30 on.

Having acknowledged Vaga, goddess of the Wye earlier this month, join us to commune with Sabrina, goddess of the Severn !

Sunday 4th August 2013, 11am-3pm:
Summer field trip to the Wye Valley

Picture
Experience the healing power of nature in the beautiful Wye Valley, with shamanic healer Maxine Smillie. Join us for a gentle walk along the riverbank at Symond's Yat, before ascending to the heights of the Symond's Yat rock, the home of Peregrine Falcons.

A lift will be available for those who prefer not to walk up to the rock from the river.

Maxine will lead an outdoor healing journey, discuss the history of the area and teach gentle shamanic exercises to allow you to deepen your connection with the Earth. Please bring a picnic lunch. If the weather is inclement, we will eat at a nearby pub or cafe.

The truth, the whole truth and …

Picture
As Saturn continues through Scorpio and buried truths continue to surface, astrologer Isla Pearson looks at the astrology of some recent conspiracy theories.  There has been much speculation about the Apollo Moon landings, and of course, around 9/11.  Can astrology help us to discover or understand what really happened?  Are there particular astrological types more prone to hoax or to being hoaxed?

Come with an open mind for a stimulating evening with Mars conjunct Jupiter in Cancer in opposition to Pluto.

Numerology & Astrology – Common Aims, Different Methods

Picture
Where Astrology studies the celestial bodies, Numerology studies numbers. Number is the root of all ‘form’. Nothing can exist in matter without a number. Numbers create (or do they reveal?!) sound, pattern, shape and life.

Human beings are governed absolutely by numbers, from obvious examples such as dates of birth and house numbers, through to the numbers behind all language. Numbers dictate (or do they reflect?!) personality, character, tendencies, milestones, paths and calamities.

We will look at the history, methods and applications of various forms of numerology. We will work theory and practice, and you will have the opportunity to calculate your own numbers. It is a vast subject, but we will pack in as much as possible, according to Einstein’s maxim ‘Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted, counts.’

Have A Good Day!

Photo astrologer Polly Wallace
Do you have a favourite day of the week? Do you know which day of the week you were born on and, if so, do you have a sense of connection with this day?  Do you ever wonder why our days are divided into chunks of 7 – a number that doesn't fit easily into either the month or the year?  A fascinating evening with astrologer Polly Wallace.

The pattern of our weekdays is moulded so deeply into the fabric of our lives that we take it for granted.  In this talk Polly uses the planetary gods to show how the week carries within itself a wealth of significance as it ripples endlessly through our lives. She describes the historical origins and cultural diversity of the week and looks in detail at each day in the light of its ruling planet. This is followed by an exploration of how we can bring greater awareness of the weekday gods into our everyday lives. Through simple methods we can each create our own two-way street where astrology and experience interact with one another on a daily basis.

Polly Wallace is a professional astrologer living in Stroud.   In 2005 she gained the diploma of the Faculty of Astrological Studies and now works for the Faculty as distance learning tutor, examiner and Summer School course leader.  Locally Polly gives astrology readings and runs classes and workshops which highlight creative methods for exploring astrology.
